The Internet Fails

First some background: My parents are out of town vacationing, so my sister & I went to their house to stay, so we can house-sit and be chauffeurs to our aunt and cousin, neither of whom can drive right now. Mom & Dad left last Friday, we moved our stuff over, including computers, and everything was hunky-dory.

Yesterday morning when I got up, I found that we had no internet. Had to call my dad to see what was up and he told me that he had activated the wireless network down in Florida, where they are now. Apparently when he did that, Comcast routed the entire internet service to down there, so we lost it completely.

We are still waiting for them to fix it, so for the moment sis & I are back at our house, where the internet still works. I'm not about to be moving my nice new computer back and forth, when there's a chance I'd drop it at some point, so I am back on my freshly-fixed laptop, installing WoW. Again. Ugh. At least it's going fairly quickly.

But, man, I hope this doesn't last long. Come on, Comcast!

First Week With New Computer (And A Few Thoughts)

And I'm loving it! The graphics are amazing, lag is almost gone, and what lag I do have I now know is from the internet or the game, and not caused by my computer. Still waiting for the connector thingy so I can run both monitors, and then I'll be cruising.

Pitchblàck is up to level 65, almost 66, and is still in Zangarmarsh. He's about finished there and will be hitting Nagrand soon to get his last few levels. One thing that I think has really sped up his leveling is the ability to fly as soon as he hit 60, it makes it so much easier to get from one spot to the next. And he'll have his cold weather flying book waiting for him at 68, so Northrend shouldn't take long either.

Quae is also getting up there, she's 52 now. I'm debating doing quests up to 58, or just running her through dungeons. She got from 48 to 52 just from Sunken Temple (LOVING the heirloom shoulders) and I'm thinking of taking her thru Blackrock Depths next. After that, who knows? I haven't run any of the vanilla dungeons in ages, and it could be fun taking her thru all of them. I'm also starting to feel in a hurry to get her into Outland, I've even got a story all ready to go when she does. I think I'd like to have all my Alliance up to 80 before the next expansion hits (sorry Taurros!).

The main reason that I'm thinking of leveling her thru dungeons, is that I transferred Barraccus to my second account, so I've been using him to take her thru. He's also been helping Pitch with a few group quests, and will probly run him thru Coilfang Reservoir as well. He's finally got the money for his dual-spec, though I haven't bought it yet because I'm still putting together his tank set. I'm still running heroics like crazy whenever I can, but his emblems are going toward dps gear. Once I'm happy with that set, I'll start getting emblem tank gear.

Alanon is still coming along as well. I'm really liking feral at 80, but I'll probly switch him back to boomkin when Pitch reaches 80 himself; I don't really need 2 level 80 feral druids (although it could be fun...). My guild is running Ulduar weekly, so he's getting emblems and gear even though most of my non-raiding work has been with Barraccus. I'm thinking of picking up some feral gear with the badges, since he's been pretty lucky on loot drops.

I've been completely neglecting Kaledain & Khaotic since my laptop broke down, which I hate, but I really want to get them transferred soon, and I'm still trying to decide on a new "home" for them. I started thinking Feathermoon, but my sister & I started new alts on Wyrmrest Accord, and while I haven't done much there yet, she has and told me that so far she likes it. So they might wind up going there. I'm still open to suggestions, though.

Shaurria is coming along nicely, both leveling- and RP-wise. Last Tuesday night's RP was awesome, and inspired me to start working on the follow-up to her first story. It's coming slowly but I'll try to have it finished soon. She's been much happier at the Pig because Arvoss has come on the last few nights. I figured it's past time to get his own RP going, so he'll be trying to make as many nights as he can. I do want to get him to Outland soon, but I'm thinking of holding off til my sister gets her hunter Tadrith up, then they can go together.

My poor Horde toons have all been ignored, more or less, for weeks. I intended to get Taurros the druid to 80 after Barraccus, and he does have more of a head start than Pitch (Taurros is 73), but every time I log on Durotan, I get bored or frustrated after a few minutes and end up back on Alliance. I said before, I love my guild, but I'm just not happy with the server anymore. I've thought about transferring the ones that I want to play to another server, but I'm not sure where. Maybe a faction change would help...

Basically I'm making a list, and it's going something like this- I'm keeping Boogga, Taurros, Taurron, Rajast, and Zuuluu. Drenka, Toorambar, and Furrealz are all still low enough that I wouldn't feel too bad about simply remaking them on another server. Kaled and Khaotic are already going to be transferred, so I'm not worried about them. As for Heylookimded...

I just have a real problem with leveling clothies. I'm kind of an in-your-face player, hence all the druids and deathknights. Heck, that's probably why I love tanking so much. Hunters are different, but having a pet is enough to make them a favorite class. I've tried leveling mages, priests, and warlocks before, and the highest I've gotten was a lvl 37 mage (deleted ages ago) and Ded, who is around 35. I honestly think the only reasons I've been able to stick with Quae are- my guild is just awesome, and she has a great, detailed RP thing going on. (And maybe because shadowpriests are overpowered. >.>) So getting back to Ded... he may wind up getting deleted also.

(Little bit off-topic, but I also have major problems leveling paladins. I've tried multiple times, and the highest I've gotten is 21 before deleting them.)

Anyway, those are my thoughts. Sorry about the long rambly post, but it's been bugging me for awhile. If you have any thoughts/suggestions, feel free to leave a comment! ^_^

Til next time, Happy Hunting!

Guess What?

I have my new computer at last!! And so far it is amazing. Once I had WoW installed I logged on for a bit, and... wow, 60fps in Orgrimmar! 23fps in Dalaran!! Just so you know, my average lately has been 4-7fps, going down into decimals whenever I'm in Dalaran, so this is a HUGE change. I'm loving it.

The monitor is my 19" widescreen, I have a second 17" monitor that I'll also be using, but need a special connector to run both, so for now I'm just using the one.

Still downloading/installing stuff on it, because the last couple days have been busy and I haven't had much time for it. So, til next time Happy Hunting!

Day 12 with no computer...

I think I'm slowly going nuts.

And my thumb drive died too. My dad has been in computers for as long as I can remember, and he's never heard of a thumb drive going bad. I'm starting to think I'm cursed.

I did get my RP night last week, and boy-oh-boy was it a busy one. Shaurria's friend Aleros was there and he started playing with both Shaur and my sister's druid Windstar. There were a LOT of druids there, a few of the others asked a few times if it was kitty night. >.>

There was a death knight there also, who decided that he HAD to talk with a paladin, the pally being a semi-regular that Shaur kind of knows. Now, this pally is socially-challenged enough to make Shaur seem normal by a long shot, and this death knight was not helping at all. It took Shaur, Windstar, another death knight, and another of the regulars, a warrior, to get him to take a hint and leave the pally alone.

The part that the dude needs for my computer was apparently bought from Ebay, which means who knows when he might get it. I'm still kinda hopeful that he may have gotten it and is working on it now, but I haven't heard anything yet.

I can't raid on my dad's PC, because I get an average of about 5fps anywhere. In Dalaran, of course, it's much, much worse, so I'm avoiding it whenever possible. So instead of instances/raids, I've just been leveling. I did get to use my sister's computer yesterday, which was much better. Barraccus hit 80 yesterday, I was going to do a post then but got a little distracted... by getting into 2 heroics and a 25-man Naxx run. Heroic Strat had nothing for him, tho he got a gloves upgrade from Chromie's quest there. Second heroic was Trial of the Champion(?), where he got 3 nice shiny purples. <3

After his level 80 training he was short only 40g for his epic flying, and after the instances he had it. His gryphon Berk has gotten some armor. Now he's broke, so I'm gonna be doing some farming on him and Alanon both for awhile.

Shaurria is up to level 32, and Pitch is 61. I haven't done much on Pitch for a while, but he'll probly get a turn soon. I'm still planning on getting Taurros to 80 next, but right now I'm feeling kinda uninspired to play my horde toons. I'm not entirely happy with the server they're on, even tho I love my guild, so it's hard to focus on them for long. The reasons behind me being unhappy are a topic for another post, tho, so I'll leave it at that.

My sister has been playing her pally Arien mostly, she is almost ready for Outland. We're kinda planing a little something between Arien and Alanon RP-wise, but haven't worked any details out yet. I'll probly be doing a story on them sometime soon.

Working on a longish one for Shaur now, since Arvoss' Darrowshire story is kind of stuck. I'll post it as soon as it's done, maybe later tonight. We'll see how it goes.

Can't think of anything else to add, and I'm itching to go play. Til next time Happy Hunting!

Day 5 with no computer...

But my dad got one of his back (he had 2 that needed repair about the same time mine crashed /boggle?) so I am currently installing WoW on this one, since my bro's is all wonky. It's installing pretty fast, but it's taking forever just cause it's so big. It wouldn't bother me so much, except...

It's RP night on Feathermoon, and I'm missing it! /cry. It is at 97% as I'm typing this and it's after 10pm, so I figure my night's pretty much shot. Shaurria is gonna miss her weekly ear-rub-begging.

My computer was not ready on Monday obviously (duh!). It only needs a clip so the motherboard(?) can be mounted inside the case, then I believe it will be finished. It's taking so long because he ordered the part on Friday, and of course no one ships anything over the weekend... I'm hoping desperately that it will only be another day or two.

Going to get off the interwebz so I'm not using up bandwidth. See ya in Azeroth soon, I hope!

Day 3 with no computer...

I'm on my sister's pc right now. I really ought to be playing since she'll want it back soon, but eh. I've also used my brother's a couple times, but there's something wonky going on with his graphics, so playing on it is....difficult, to put it mildly. Been on Taurros mostly while I'm on it, since I have all his hotkeys memorized.

Haven't heard anything yet about my new computer, but I'm still hopeful that I'll be able to get it Monday. I would love to have it be all ready to play on by Tuesday' RP night on Feathermoon. If it isn't, I may hijack my bro's again.

Pitch was about 4-5 bars from level 58 last time I had played him, so I leveled him up yesterday and got him to Outland. Where he promptly got 2 more levels. Yep, he's now 60 and is flying around getting all his discovers. I'm debating getting him his dual spec, so he can start tanking if it's needed (he is pure kitty right now). Gonna think on that some more before I actually do it, tho.

And here is Pitch, in his birdy form, with Zeth'gor in the background.

Keep fingers crossed that the new PC is ready soon! :) -Happy Hunting!

I didn't really mean it, but...

Apparently I scared my computer by mentioning I wanted to kill it, because it died last night. I spent all afternoon playing with no sound, then before I went to bed I tried rebooting it to see if the sound would come back.

I hit restart, Windows shut down, and it started to boot back up and.....

Blue screen.

So I have hijacked my brother's computer to type this up, and will be computer-less this weekend (unless I can "borrow" my sister's like I did last time). The good news is my new PC should be ready by this weekend, so I'll hopefully get it Monday. ^_^

And I am LOVING the new druid forms/colors. Wanted to show off my two babies, because they are the awesomest.

First is Pitchblack in his teddy bear form. He is so cute in this picture, I want to cuddle him. :P

And Taurros the tauren, who will soon be my next level 80 (I hope). Maybe not as cute as Pitch, but he looks so cool now. ^_^

That's it for now. I'm not holding my breath about getting my new PC after what happened last time, so you'll see me when you see me. Happy Hunting!

Going to kill my PC bbl

It's Tuesday.

The patch is all ready to be downloaded and installed.

And...

I can't install it because there's not enough room on my flipping hard drive!

Trying to clear up space right now, will update again later.
____________

Update-

Okay, it's installing now. But I had to remove Runes of Magic to make room, so once again, WoW is the only game on my computer. Sometime I might make a list of all the games I would like to be playing, but can't because of my frickin computer problems. It's old, it's laggy and slow, and now there's no room left on the hard drive. WTB new computer please! /endrant.

Delays, delays, delays

Grumpy post is grumpy.

My new computer, as far as I know, is ready. I had hoped I could pick it up on Wednesday, which is when it was supposed to be done. But had to wait for my dad, since he knows the guy that's doing my computer. Dad didn't get home til way after 5, too late to go pick it up that day. So, we were going to get it today, but he couldn't get in touch with the guy. Wasn't at work, didn't answer the phone. So now, since it's a holiday weekend (Memorial Day), gotta wait til Tuesday.

Thankfully my laptop hasn't given me any more issues, though I've been afraid to turn it off so just been setting it on standby. Ugh, I hate waiting...

On a different note.....

Alliance guild's raid tonight was Ulduar to start with. We already have Flame Leviathan pretty much down, tonight we tried Razorscale for the first time. And, well, see for yourself. :)

New boss down! :D

We tried Deconstructor too, it was worth it just to hear my guildies response to his voice. *snicker*

And after many painful wipes....

Ignis had fun smushing us into the ground a few times before we quit for the night. Altogether, it was a pretty awesome night! And Alanon picked up a new chestpiece, whee!

That's about it, til next time Happy Hunting!
