"Project Wings" (and other things!)

Hello, little blog. Long time no see, huh?

I have been unmotivated to write anything lately, I admit. Rheugan is being near-impossible to write for, so most of his RP has been actual in-game stuff. But hey, that's what chatlogs are for, right? He's also chugging along nicely (if slowly) at 52 now, and I'm feeling an itch to get him to 60 asap. Which brings me to the title of this post.

I think Davoss started it when he reached 60 and got his flying. See, you can fly anywhere in Azeroth now. And while flying on a level 60 mount may be fairly slow, it still beats running on the ground (and dealing with all the obstacles you'll find there!). So "Project Wings" was born.

My goal with the project is simple-get every character that's close enough their flying mount/training. Dav has his bird, so he's taken care of. Rheugan is next, naturally, and then it will be mage-Alanon's turn. After that I don't really have anyone else close enough- Arnen would be my next at 28- so it's a fairly small, easy project. And hey, it's an excuse to play my lowbies, right? >_>

I've been tinkering with my hunters and pets, too, and have some new additions to show off. Arnen first, since I just mentioned him. I leveled him up to 28 specifically for 2 pets, which he now has!

Sorla the cat is formerly Pogeyan, and Digger is Mahamba- a couple new rare spawns that were added in the last major patch (I think? Correct me if I'm wrong). Sorla is shiiiiiny, if you can't tell from the pic. I'm really digging them both so far.

Next is a couple new ones for Khaotic- a pair of rares that I had to camp for.

I'm not real big on bugs, but I'm liking Rex okay so far. His wings don't actually buzz- it's more of a whispery rustling sound. He gave me a run-around, I had to camp him for 3 days before he popped. Olm was little better- I think it was 2-3 days for him, too.

Last up is Andrano, since he got the most new buddies. First up is his wolf, since I don't think I ever put up a pic of him. And he's named now, too!

I'm trying to write more about Andrano and Carienne, and his naming will be part of that. Otherwise, he's now added a ghost saber (couldn't resist), a yellow condor (love the model but didn't want to wait for level 72ish for the blue), Gosh-Haldrir the rare croc (tamed on a whim, couldn't resist again), and the new spiky Ghamoo-ra turtle (/hugs Morti). I think it's safe to say that he'll have his stable crammed by the time he reaches max-level, agreed?

Other than those guys, not much has been happening. Shaurria is still at 83, though I want to finish her up still. Project Wings will have to come first though, cause I'm serious about the "asap" bit. Davoss is parked at 62 while I decide if I want to power-level his smithing before going further. And honestly, Rheugan has become my biggest focus right now- I may even get him through the Outland questing before Dav, we'll see.

I've been debating doing a bit of culling with Lark's stable. I'm just not feeling any attachment to her dog Vei, in fact he nearly didn't even get leveled. And Arnen has his dog Bax, so I will have at least one mastiff. She may also trade in her parrot for one of the rares in Deadmines, if I can ever find one, but that's another "we'll see". Her raid group is fun- last week we got the twin dragons down, and spent some time on the Ascendant Council to boot. I think we'll have them down in a week or two. I need to level some of my others' professions, though- my sis can make flasks on her warlock, and Shaur can pick the herbs no problem, but Lark could use food and stuff too, and it'd be a lot easier (and cheaper!) if I could make everything myself.

Part of the problem with that is that I've been.... playing another game *cough*. A friend convinced me and sis to try out Rift, and I'm loving it so far. Shaurria has been "rerolled" as a cleric, with druid/shaman/sentinel trees, and she's bashed, blasted, and healed her way up to 19 already. I have a beastmaster warrior and ranger rogue as well for my altoholicism, and while they're still little, they're just as much fun. The gameplay is a lot like WoW, the rifts and invasion events are fun and good xp, and overall I'm enjoying it. Not giving up WoW for it, not by a long shot, but it's a nice change for when I need it.

So I think that's about it. I'm attempting an in-depth post about Rheugan, which will likely go on my other blog, and will probably be posting some Rift-related stuff there too, so keep tuned in for that. Til next time, Happy Hunting!

How do you get a level 60 through a level 70 dungeon?

Very carefully, of course. >.>

Aely and her hubby ran Shaurria and Tadrith thru Sethekk Halls so they could finish off their Pilgrim achievements and get their titles/turkeys. Shaur was only level 60, so all I really did was hide well back while they all cleared. (Tad died lolz.) Since I wasn't doing much of anything, I started up Fraps, and here's the result!

Yes, apparently I like funky music. Well, actually I couldn't find the song I wanted on my PC, so I improvised. >.>

Shaurria went from 58 to 60 in no time flat, and after Windstar runs her thru Ramparts, I'm hoping she'll hit 61. Then I can log off happily. (Edit: got to be too late, so she didn't get her Ramps run. We're gonna hit it tomorrow night, hopefully.)

She adores flying (and heck, so do I >.>). Kinda stinks that she won't be able to get Cold Weather Flying when she reaches Northrend. It's hard to believe now that she's almost there.

I wanted to throw in some funny RP chat, since I've started using WowScribe, but I can't find the chat. >.> So for now, goodnight!

A few notes

BRD is awesome. Shaurria got a level running thru it, then reached her next level turning quests in. By the time she was done, she was almost halfway to level #3.

Shaur is 54 1/2 now. Wheeee!

She got to see a happy drunken Aely. Oops, I mean a tipsy Aely *ahem*. It was nice because up til now she's only seen a sad dr- I mean tipsy Aely. Shaur was a bit... confused. It was amusing. :)

I didn't play her much this weekend 'cause I took Barraccus on a guild alt run thru Naxx. It was fun. And he finished his tank set!

He got to tank-kite the adds for Gluth. That's a lot more fun with a DK than with a hunter. >.>

I went ahead and bought his dual-spec for Gluth. He has a copy of what Arvoss' tank spec will be when he reaches 80.

Finished the night with Kel'Thuzad, and Barraccus got to offtank the adds.

After Naxx was done with, a couple guildies and I (still on Barraccus) went to start on Pilgrim's Bounty stuff. It was fun til I got too tired to keep track of what we were doing, then I gave up and logged.

I'm a little annoyed by the achievements. I have 3 toons that are pet-collectors, and only one of them has a decent cooking skill. So since the achievement requires you to actually cook all the food, I'm going to have to level up Pitch and Shaur's cooking. But that's something I'll worry about later. Although, thinking about Shaur and Pitch each with fat little turkeys following them is providing plenty of incentive.

And finally, the Onyxian Whelpling is cute, but it's one of the most psycho-looking whelplings I've ever seen.

Going to go crash now, til next time Happy Hunting!

More Art & Stuff

Did a couple more sketches. This is just a quickie of Shaurria stalking something:

And this was inspired by the fact that Windstar, my sister's druid, has taken to mothering Shaur, even grooming her. See?

I'm not totally happy with Windstar in this one, though I'm not sure what exactly is wrong with her. Also, crease in the paper is fail. :(

And a couple random screenshots, just because I can. Shaurria on the Darnassus bank roof, because she's a ham:

And a closeup of her lying next to Aely in the Pig:

Shaur is in the middle of a rough time, if you couldn't tell it from my last story. Happy times coming soon, I hope.

I Haz Arts

Let me show you them:

Okay, so the obvious first off. I drew these in a notebook, hence the lines. I'm sorry, I got a real sketchpad now, won't be any more lines after this. Moving on.

They are a little blurry because I don't have a scanner, so I took pictures of them with my digital camera and uploaded them to my PC that way. Meh, works for now. My dad does have a scanner, so maybe I can get him to show me how to use it when he gets back from vacation.

It's been ages since I've drawn anything. Really. Used to do it all the time, but stuff happens. And then in my case, WoW happened. I did these at work 'cause I was bored with my book and had nothing else to do while on my breaks, so I thought I'd see if I could still do this. I don't think they look too bad, and hopefully when I get back into practice they will get better.

And final note.....

Sleepy Shaurria is CUTE!!

Day 12 with no computer...

I think I'm slowly going nuts.

And my thumb drive died too. My dad has been in computers for as long as I can remember, and he's never heard of a thumb drive going bad. I'm starting to think I'm cursed.

I did get my RP night last week, and boy-oh-boy was it a busy one. Shaurria's friend Aleros was there and he started playing with both Shaur and my sister's druid Windstar. There were a LOT of druids there, a few of the others asked a few times if it was kitty night. >.>

There was a death knight there also, who decided that he HAD to talk with a paladin, the pally being a semi-regular that Shaur kind of knows. Now, this pally is socially-challenged enough to make Shaur seem normal by a long shot, and this death knight was not helping at all. It took Shaur, Windstar, another death knight, and another of the regulars, a warrior, to get him to take a hint and leave the pally alone.

The part that the dude needs for my computer was apparently bought from Ebay, which means who knows when he might get it. I'm still kinda hopeful that he may have gotten it and is working on it now, but I haven't heard anything yet.

I can't raid on my dad's PC, because I get an average of about 5fps anywhere. In Dalaran, of course, it's much, much worse, so I'm avoiding it whenever possible. So instead of instances/raids, I've just been leveling. I did get to use my sister's computer yesterday, which was much better. Barraccus hit 80 yesterday, I was going to do a post then but got a little distracted... by getting into 2 heroics and a 25-man Naxx run. Heroic Strat had nothing for him, tho he got a gloves upgrade from Chromie's quest there. Second heroic was Trial of the Champion(?), where he got 3 nice shiny purples. <3

After his level 80 training he was short only 40g for his epic flying, and after the instances he had it. His gryphon Berk has gotten some armor. Now he's broke, so I'm gonna be doing some farming on him and Alanon both for awhile.

Shaurria is up to level 32, and Pitch is 61. I haven't done much on Pitch for a while, but he'll probly get a turn soon. I'm still planning on getting Taurros to 80 next, but right now I'm feeling kinda uninspired to play my horde toons. I'm not entirely happy with the server they're on, even tho I love my guild, so it's hard to focus on them for long. The reasons behind me being unhappy are a topic for another post, tho, so I'll leave it at that.

My sister has been playing her pally Arien mostly, she is almost ready for Outland. We're kinda planing a little something between Arien and Alanon RP-wise, but haven't worked any details out yet. I'll probly be doing a story on them sometime soon.

Working on a longish one for Shaur now, since Arvoss' Darrowshire story is kind of stuck. I'll post it as soon as it's done, maybe later tonight. We'll see how it goes.

Can't think of anything else to add, and I'm itching to go play. Til next time Happy Hunting!

Shaurria: A Night At the Pig & Whistle

Inspired by Tuesday night's awesome rp.

Shaur with her two friends Aleros the druid and Aely the pally.

Sitting with Aely. Shaur is kinda attached to her.

Overlooking her domain from the stair railing.

She had a really good time despite the fact that she was missing Arvoss (he's still in the Plaguelands). Aleros helped alot by playing with her a couple times. I should have gotten a couple screenshots of that. >.>

She also couldn't find Windstar, so she didn't have her regular friends around her. It made her more nervous than usual, but she actually found it easier to just go up to people and say hi. I am starting to realize, however, that my little druid has some major issues. Hmm.

I think I'll have Arvoss' story done before I finish Kaled & Khaotic's, so I might post part 1 of that soon. Til next time, Happy Hunting!
