Mission Accomplished!

Kaledain and Khaotic did their last Ravasaur daily today! (And got achievements for it, go figure. Apparently I was never able to do it for 5 days straight.)

Ta-da!!!

Their names are Sarnor (Kaled's) and Jess (Khaotic's), "swift" and "fang" respectively in the Drow tongue.

Still got a couple preparations to do, but I'll be transferring them later today. Woohoo!

Later: They are moved!

And Arvoss and Windstar have done the entire Wrathgate quest chain. Arvoss got pretty peeved during the battle in Undercity, because everything was either yanking him around or throwing him up against the walls. (Seriously, I mean everything was doing it. >.>)

Going to be working on some more Shaurria RPs for the next few days. Not exactly sure what I'm going to be doing, but hopefully whatever I wind up doing will go well. /crosses fingers

Kaled & Khaotic reach level 60!

And as soon as I can wrap up the Darrowshire questline, they are heading to Outland at last. But why did I wait? Couple reasons- firstly, epic ground mount. Faster escapes when I run thru everything in my path is always good. Also, not every quest out there is available at level 58. I'm toying with the idea of taking them to Zangarmarsh first, and doing Hellfire Peninsula later. Also, I have rushed thru content so much for most of my toons; I wanted to do some of the quests that I haven't done before (like the Darrowshire chain). Call me nostalgic if you will, but eh.

My sister on her druid & I were going to finish the questline tonight, but we ran into a snag. Seems the Battle of Darrowshire quest bugs out sometimes. When we went to do our quest, there were mobs and guards running all over the place, and no sign of the NPCs anywhere. We might have to wait for Tuesday's reset to be able to finish it. :(

Will finish up the story once we do complete it. Then it's on to Outland, with a brief stopover to do Warlord's Command (love that quest and haven't done it since Boogga reached 60).

And it is once again waaay too late, and I need sleep. Til next time Happy Hunting!

Breaking news: 2 long hunts are finished

First bit of news is this.

The leveling grind is over! And yes, I know it says they are 56 instead of 55. I took them both into Sunken Temple with my sister's hunter Rajji a few days ago, and that leveled Kaled. >.>

Now I get to farm battlegrounds til they get their epic mounts. Oh joy.

Second bit of news is this: When I got up this morning for work, I discovered that my sister had been up literally all night. But! She had a surprise for me. She had just found and tamed Loque'nahak!! Don't have any screenshots yet, but I'll be sticking them up here when I do!

Edit: This is on her Ne hunter Kelesaria. Her troll Rajji tamed Gondria the very next day after Boogga got his.

I'm reallly happy for her, since this has been about a 6-month search. She's even had him stolen from her a time or two. But now, she finally has him! Yay!

Edit again: Screenshots of the pretty new spirit beast-

Kaled and Khaotic: Updates

First, for Khaotic-

She's now only 5 levels behind Kaled, then the duoing begins! (If my computer can handle it >.>)

For Kaled-
We actually, finally, somehow won an AV match. This gives him 27 marks (yes, yes, I've been slacking) and a shiny new weapon.

For anyone that's curious about why I haven't moved them yet, or why they are even on a non-RP server in the first place, here's an example. I went to look at an enchant scroll for his spear, and the scrolls for +25 agility were going for 125g and up. Rather than pay that much, especially when he is trying to save towards his epic mount training, I just bought the mats, made a weapon vellum, and mailed it all to Zuuluu, my rogue and enchanter. He made the scroll and sent it back. 30 seconds of work and Kaled had his enchant, for about 30g. Self-proficiency is win.

And now, here's a shot of the two of them in their Silvermoon house. It's a nice place to unwind before logging for the night.

Speaking of night, it's really really late now, so goodnight and Happy Hunting!

He made it

Taurron is in Northrend now, yay. He went to Howling Fjord first, I'm gonna move him to Borean Tundra when he hits 70. He did all the quests at the starting town and hit 69 in record time. Going to duo him with my sister's shaman mostly, I hope, since he does tend to die alot.

I picked up a 2-handed mace as a quest reward, but Taur's weapon skill is below 250 and I didn't want to level it. I did try taking him to UC to try and raise it on the target dummies but apparently Blizz has "fixed" them so they don't give skill-ups anymore. GG Blizz. :P

I am adding to Kaledain's story, preparing for when they finally get to Outlands, but I'm not gonna post anything until they actually get there. When they do, tho, I'll have plenty of story ideas all ready to go! For now, it's AV weekend so Kaled is back in there, getting more marks for his Frostwolf. I hope to get him up to 25-30 marks before the weekend is over (he has 18 right now) despite my short attention span when it comes to pvp.

Also, I updated my blogroll, and it has asploded. Eek.

Been Busy...

Apologies for the lack of regular posts. I've been busy and haven't made any time for the blog the last few days. But, I've gotten alot of stuff done.

Khlar is up to 64 and I'm thinking of skipping Zangarmarsh with him and going to Terokkar til he levels, then hitting Nagrand at 65. Though it is tempting to just run thru the zones in "order", then he'll have plenty to do for the upper-60s and I might be able to skip the parts I don't care much for (most of Netherstorm comes to mind...).

Khaotíc is 24 now after a run through RFK and BFD. I wanted to get her here for a reason, which is shown below. :)

Of course after I got that last level I went to get him and discovered that he's actually 23, I could have sworn he was 24 last time I saw him... >.>

His name, Alti'ui'qo, is Drow for wing clip. My trend with Khaotíc is that all her pets have names in the Drow language. And if you don't know what a Drow is, I would enthusiastically recommend you go read R. A. Salvatore's Drizzt series.

Last night's Naxx raid was fun as usual. I didn't really want to go at first but I'm glad I did, 'cause Boogga got his tier 7 chest!! And he had enough emblems after to get a new neck, too. He is now over the hit cap, so I can finally look for stuff without +hit on it, woot.

On a final note, I finally figured out why I've been so tired the last few days. I'm catching a cold or something, oh joy. If I don't post again for a few days, you'll know it's because I can't get out of bed. :(

Can't think of anything else. Til next time, Happy Hunting!

Altitis breaks out again

I totally skipped out on the Sartharion raid tonight. >.>

But... Khaotíc is level 22 now, and Khlar has reached 62. Fun stuff.

Khaotíc and Kaled had a lovely romantic evening of killing undead and trolls in Ghostlands. She is done with the Dar'khan chain and just has a couple more quests til she'll be done there. Might have gotten her higher but my PC started giving me fits so I called it a night with them.

They did have a little fun last night, Khaotíc had gotten TWO picnic baskets (no black dress yet though) and they both ran through the quest chain so they had some "party" clothes. Silvermoon was mostly deserted so they took advantage and had a little picnic. And yes, I took a few screenshots.

I have to say that I think Khaotíc looks rather stunning in that dress.

Oops, how'd that last one get in there? >.>

I'm having a bit of trouble again with the story of Khlar I was working on. Seems that my writer's block isn't dead yet, it just switched targets. I will get it done soon though, I promise.
Til next time, Happy Hunting! (and watch out for Peddlefeet!)

Level 80 Devilsaur.... Check!

Yup, Mageddon is level 80 now. :) Boogga got into a heroic Gun'drak group where he leveled to 79, then after some massive leather-farming he got an invite to heroic UK, where Mag dinged 80 and.....

I GOT IT! I GOT IT! I GOT IT!!

The crossbow dropped, Boogga has a new ranged weapon at last, and now there's nothing holding me back from joining my guild's Naxx/Obsidian Sanctum runs. He got his crossbow skill from 350 to 400 in no time at all, and leveled his last pet, his still-unnamed chimaera, to boot. 4 more levels for her and all his pets will be 80. /Bask

Spent some time on Kaled too, he dinged 55 and got his inscription to 300. I think inscription has been the most fun profession to level I've found yet. Now I want to push him to 58 so he can get to Outlands and train, then Taurros will send him herbs to keep leveling it. Unless I can talk my warlock friend into summoning him out there....

He has 15 AV marks now, tho I've been taking a break to level him a bit. Next time he goes in, he won't be quite so squishy. He is also now honored with Timbermaw. ^_^ I'm thinking of making him my rep toon and just try to hit exalted with as many as possible. I think it fits his character well too. :)

Just for kicks, here's the Recount of Boogga's H Gun'drak run-

I think his DPS doing okay right now. This is before he got the new bow, so he still had his old one. We also had a good group for buffs, he was over 4k RAP at one point. I really want to see what he can put out in a 10 or 25-man raid.

Going to run Khaotíc thru a bunch of quests tomorrow, then hit Wailing Caverns/Shadowfang Keep. Hopefully she'll get another level or three.

Time for bed now, goodnight and Happy Hunting!

Post-patch DPS testing and leveling stuff

I took Boogga to Silvermoon figuring that would be the least laggy Horde city and ran a few DPS tests. I wish I had some screenies of his DPS before the patch but I don't, if I remember correctly he was pushing about 1500. Each test is just a single, nuke-til-he's-out-of-mana burst, I could have gone longer I know, but I just wanted the rough figures. All tests were done with AotDragonhawk. First test was his old spec, with Samurai attacking. I had all her skills on auto-cast except for Call of the Wild. Results:
(Messed up a bit with the picture editor but tried to make it as readable as possible.)
So his DPS didn't drop a whole lot. He also didn't have any raid buffs, but I don't know how much that would have changed things.

After the initial test I respecced him to this. Then I reset Recount and started firing away again. Results for #2:

This one actually dropped his DPS. :P I'm gonna stick with it for awhile and see how it works in groups/raids and such. It also might have been lower because I'm not used to the shot rotation yet, basically I'm still spamming steady and throwing in arcane/aimed shots when the cooldown is up, and I was late on some shots 'cause I hit steady too many times.

Third test, just for kicks I used Mageddon the devilsaur. He is still 78 but specced the same as Samurai except for his last talent point which he will get at 80. Same as with Sam, he had all auto-casts on except for CotW. Results for that one:
You can see he actually did better that time. Might have been that I did the shot rotation better but Mag's DPS is better than Sam's as well so it looks like devilsaurs might be the new /win. (I don't really care about that, btw. Samurai will still see plenty of use, she is his baby after all.)

This could really use some more in-depth testing, but I'm a nub at this sort of stuff. I'll more than likely try it again when Mag hits 80, but then again, I'll probably be alot better mixing my shots by then so who knows what it will look like. If anyone that knows this stuff better than I do has any suggestions or opinions, please feel free to leave a comment. ^_^
_____________________________

Kaled ran Khaotic through RFC several times today, so she's up to 13 now. Then the lag finally got to my PC and crashed the game, ugh. She got some nice drops tho, I'll try some more tomorrow most likely. Now I'm off to AV again for more marks.

The new computer search is going slow. I had some trouble downloading the patch due to not enough memory, hopefully tho I won't have to put up with it much longer. Biggest thing is my dad is helping me (I'm almost totally computer-illiterate, though I am learning), and he's just not in a hurry like I am. So far we're looking at dual-core desktops, I'm not picky about the brand so long as it's not a Gateway (I've had enough of them, thank you very much), and debating between a normal one or an all-in-one, which would be nice just from the space I'd save since my desk isn't that big. Would appreciate some crossed fingers that we can find a good deal soon, and I can finally retire this laptop.

Til next time, Happy Hunting!

Moving right along

Kaled is up to 53, getting the last couple quests for Sunken Temple dinged him yesterday and my sister ran him thru today on her troll hunter. Got some nice screenshots, though some are kinda dark. And new boots!

He has 4 AV marks so far. The 51-60 AV on my server is fail. Each match started out with about 30 alliance and maybe a dozen horde. We never got a full group except for one match we filled up about 5 minutes before it ended. But hey, it's still fun, and that's the point, right? :)

We had some technical difficulties with our internet, so I'm not gonna have all the time I thought I would for battlegrounds tonight, but I'm still gonna run thru 1 or 2 matches.

Post-patch, I haven't noticed a huge drop in Kaled's dps, stuff still dies fast. I haven't logged on Boogga yet tho, I'm kind of afraid to after hearing about what other hunters have said. I'll try to get him in an instance tomorrow and see what happens.

AV is calling, gotta go. Happy Hunting!

The Grind Begins

Kaled is now level 51, so it's time to start the grind for his Frostwolf Howler. I know he won't be able to use it til he reaches 60 and gets his mount training, but I really want to get it over and done with, and I'll be taking frequent leveling breaks besides, so he'll probably be close when he finally gets it. This is going to be the only pvp he does; the other items are tempting, but he'll be replacing alot of them in Outlands so I don't think it'll be worth the time it will take to get them.

Khaotíc has gotten all of one level since I last mentioned her. I really need a new computer before I'll be able to dual-box her with Kaled, my old Gateway can only handle it if I turn off everything else and only have WoW running. I'll probably solo-level her for now.

I had some alt-time the last couple days. Andrano and Sangha are now level 17, I'm going to push them to 20 asap (darn OCD bug). Toorambar got dusted off too, he got to level 21 and Ahanu the hyena, who had fallen way behind and was at 15, reached 20 in no time so I'm really happy with them now.

Poor Boogga's been neglected the last few days, except for dailies and some concentrated Spirit Beast hunting. I almost want to give up on it, but BRK just had a post that is giving me hope that the next patch will make it easier.

I'm kind of just puttering around until the patch comes out, really. I want to see how the hunter changes might affect Boogga and the others before I get majorly into anything. Plus the mining changes, which will make Zuuluu happy, and the other big (I think) change they're going to be doing, about the death knight creation. I also have another story completed, but can't post it til patch day because it involves that last thing.

Making Kaled's story was a lot of fun, and it's started me thinking about my other toons. I probably won't be writing stories for all of my characters, but I might use some future posts to just describe their personalities. We'll see.

Can't think of anything else, so til next time- Happy Hunting!

Mission Accomplished

Kaledain dinged 50 today and is out of rest. His herbalism is maxed at 300, gonna keep working on his inscription. Kechara got a boost to 50 when he dinged, compliments of the level 50 owls in Felwood. ;) Probably gonna do the same with Argus when Kaled hits Un'Goro, so Ashke will get most of the attention now.

I'm working on Gwyn's next story, couldn't finish it tonight 'cause I was falling asleep. Will hopefully post it tomorrow. I've decided to go ahead and keep Kaled's story the way I've been writing it. Yes, it involves someone that technically doesn't exist anymore, but Khaotic plays an important role in making Kaled who he is, and in the end I can't make myself change it. I'll try to post part 2 of his tale a day or 2 after Gwyn's.

Going to bed now, I'm still trying to fall asleep. Zzzzzz......

/Bask

Kaledain is now 49, one level away from steady shot and 9 from Outlands. He did all the quests for Jintha'Alor and got some new gear to boot. Ashke is caught up with him, gonna start grinding Felwood furbolgs with the other 2 so he can get thru the tunnel without being attacked.

Quae the shadow priest has reached 40 at last and has Shadowform now, plus some new gear of her own.

Boogga had another heroic UK run, this time with a PUG. It was actually a good group and a nice fast run. Crossbow still didn't drop though. :( We were going to try heroic UP after, but the tank left, so it kinda fell apart.

I know my last story was kind of a tear-jerker, I've been in a mood lately and wanted to write that one since I've been thinking about it for ages. Next story will probably be Gwyn's part 3 so it will be much more cheerful. :)

I'm also beginning to think of Kaled's next part. This one will cover the time from when he left the Farstriders til I'm not sure when, gonna try to do about a year in his story (this won't be as long as you might think). Just need to figure out a few details then I'll start writing it.

Til next time, Happy Hunting!

More dinging

After today Kaled is sitting at level 47, with Ashke and Argus both at 45 and Kechara at 46, whew. Kaled got that level almost entirely from grinding on pirates to level his pets. I have the feeling that trying to keep 3 pets up in Outlands will be interesting. Also got his inscription up to 215, will be mostly working on that tomorrow I think.

I am feeling really unmotivated to play my Alliance toons, but don't know why. My best friend on Alliance has been teasing my sister and I lately about the spirit beast camping we've been doing, that's probably partly it. I'm just having alot more fun on horde right now.

I'm still working on Kaled's story in my head. My main problem with it is, I had a pretty long story written out for him, but it involved a character that I have deleted. I just don't feel right putting in a character that no longer exists, though, since his story is going to keep going while I play him. I've toyed with the idea to remake that toon, but that would mean I'd have to level her to catch Kaled, and getting a new toon from 1 to 47, when I already have so many alts, is definitely not appealing. So I don't know what I'm going to do with it.

I love my days off

Got Boogga into a heroic Violet Hold first thing this morning and came out with a new cloak, 65 leather, and 8 dragonscales. I <3 Violet Hold. Ran heroic UK again too, I was hoping the crossbow would drop but no dice. He did get a new helm and belt, so I'm happy. He has over 3k RAP now with Dragonhawk on, though his crit is still below 20%. (Edit: got the Plunderer's Helm, blogspot isn't letting me post with the link for some reason.)

Almost forgot to mention I got into a 10-man Archavon raid, woot. Pretty easy fight, and the warrior and mage in the raid got new shinies.

I am trying to level his pets still; Mageddon the devilsaur is 76, but his chimera is still 75. Samahe only needs one more level, so I think he's my focus now, then back to Mageddon. I have run into a pet problem though. I tamed the ghost hydra just for kicks until I find Loque'nahak the spirit beast, but I think I've fallen in love with it, noises and all. So if I do find Loque, which of Boo's pets will have to go? He will never release Samurai, and I want to keep Mageddon and the hydra, so it's either the chimera or rhino. I really don't want to let his chimera go, because I've wanted to tame one long before Blizzard did the Wrath talents, and she's his only cunning pet and dang useful at times. So I might be saying goodbye to Samahe the rhino. :*(

One solution to my problem might be to level Kaledain up, and get the spirit beast with him. Now that Boo is 80, and getting geared up, I'm itching to play Kaled again. I also get most of my story inspiration from actually playing him, and there's alot more to his story that I want to write. But I think that's a "we'll see."

Speaking of stories, part 2 of Gwyn's story is in the works, I'll post it asap. Til then, Happy Hunting!

A whole lotta leveling going on...

It's been a long week. But I finally got in some major playing time. Got my sister to run Kaled through Zul'farrak with her shammy, so he is now 45. Kechara got up to 44 in the run, then I switched her out for Ashkeyana who hit 43. Argus was almost leveled, so getting 43 for him too was easy. Next project- level his inscription while building up some rest.

Boogga went up the the Storm Peaks and got the explore achievement for that. He also found the white rhinos, so Samahe has undergone another color change. Did some farming too, and made some nice new shoulders. Tomorrow I'll have to do some heavy leather-farming so he can get those vendor patterns. He is almost halfway to 79 now, and Samurai is nearly 78. so she's keeping up pretty good.

On a non-WoW note, my kitty-cat Buster has "discovered" my box turtle, Harley. It was hilarious watching him try to play with poor Harley, especially since Buster seems to be afraid of him.

That's it for now, time for sleep. I'll be trying to post Argus' story in the next couple days.

Question: Should Kaled go ahead and get his 4th stable slot now, while he has the money, rather than wait til 60 like I was originally going to? Might be a bit easier since he'll have his epic ground mount to worry about then. He won't be getting a new pet to fill it til 60, when he can get his first exotic (I'm thinking either a worm or a devilsaur).

A little bit of randomness, and an introduction

I work as a stocker in a grocery store near my home. Earlier today, I'm in the snack aisle, in uniform, putting bags of chips on the shelf, and a lady walks up to me and asks.... wait for it.... "Do you work here?"

Gotta love it.

So I already mentioned my BE hunter Kaledain (or Kaled). Figured I would share at least part of his backstory.

Kaled was about a year old when his parents left him in his cradle and started working on a magical experiment in the workroom of their house. Something went wrong, and the experiment exploded, taking both his parents in the blink of an eye. Kaled somehow survived without anything worse than severe burns over part of his body, which thankfully healed without scars. But as he grew older, the couple who had taken him in noticed something. Usually by his/her third or fourth year, a young blood elf would be starting to show some magical ability, commonly by putting faerie fire on various objects, or making things float. But Kaled had shown none of that, even by his fifth year. His adopted parents took him to the highest-ranking mages in Silvermoon to see what they could find out, and it wasn't good. Kaled's innate ability to cast magic had been burned out of him by the accident. It showed further in that his blue eyes had none of the glow that was normal for a Sin'dorei. The mages, and his caretakers, were shocked; what could they do with him? As far as the blood elves were concerned, he was useless, a freak.

His adopted parents cared for him for another 2 years, but things soon grew too much for them. Kaled was shunned by everyone, and became a favorite target for the bullies his age. The couple that cared for him were pitied openly, which was a great blow to their pride. Finally they took him and left him at the one place where magic was not everything; the Farstrider Retreat.

Kaled was raised and trained by the hunters there. By the time he was 12 he was a crack shot with a bow, and had mastered the sword, spear and two-handed axe by age 15. The farstriders taught him how to coax a wild animal into a bond, and he tamed his first companion, a red lynx cub that had been staying near the retreat and often allowed Kaled to play with him. He named the cub Ashkeyana, or Ashke for short. At 17 Kaled traveled to the tauren land of Mulgore, to train with the hunters there for a season. While he was there, 2 things happened. He found he could use and adapt the tauren's shamanistic magic, which worked differently than the Sin'dorei's arcane magic, to do the skills that hunters used most often, such as healing their animal companion, or imbuing an arrow with poison or arcane energy. And he discovered a young owl, which had been blown far off her normal migration and wound up in Mulgore alone. He bonded to the bird and named her Kechara.

Kaled returned to the Farstriders almost finished with his training, and by his 19th nameday he was out on his own.

To be continued...
